About Our Directors - Marshall Crowl


ICrowl Marshalln only 10 years, Marshall’s barbershop career has gained him a plethora of experience through administration, quartetting, and chorus singing. He is a third generation barbershopper and was awarded Barbershopper of The Year in 2017. Marshall was the baritone section leader for the award winning chorus, Acappella Federation and has been a musical leader of the Tulsa Founders even before he started directing. Administratively, he is the current president of the Tulsa #1 chapter and has served on the Southwestern District Board of Directors. He has been in many quartets including home town favorite, Preservation, but he is most notably known for his International 3rd place Medal for the Next Generation Youth Quartet Contest in 2019 with City Limits and his current quartet, Harmonium, finished in the top 20 at the International contest in 2022 for the open division. Marshall also serves the chorus through the making of learning tracks and social media outreach. 


 

Doug CrowlDoug Crowl is a 35 year barbershopper.  He brings to the position a wealth of choral and quartet knowledge and experience on the District and International stages.  First as bass of The Rockerfellers from 1987 to 1990 (SWD Champion  Quartet in 1989), then with Tulsa Tradition, 1990 to 1996 (and beyond) as SWD Champion in 1990 and making the International Top Ten 1991-1994.  


His directorial experience includes Musical Director of Tulsa Metro Sound Sweet Adelines, and Assistant Director of Music Central.  Recently, he's been involved in several projects including bass for the Southern Gospel Quartet, Eternity, Administrative Director for Acapella Federation.  Doug is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tulsa.
